Louisiana is home to some of the best saltwater fishing in the world and every facet of the local environment has a fishery associated with it. The long-time presence of oilrigs and many artificial reefs that have been placed by the LDWF have created vital habitat for all types of offshore fish. Grouper, snapper, cobia and amberjack are just a few of the many reef fish that live and feed amongst the structures off of the Louisiana coast. Bait is also attracted to these structures, which in turn draws many blue-water predators such as tuna, wahoo, marlin and dolphin. This incredible fishing is all within your reach, whether you bring your own boat or charter one of the many knowledgeable guides up and down the coast.
